Are you a Satellite Communications Engineer searching for an exciting Defence project? Do you enjoy working with industry leaders to add value in industries like space, communication and simulation?

 

We are currently recruiting two Satellite Communications Engineers to join the QinetiQ Australia Advisory business, based in Canberra.

 

Our team has been selected by the Joint Capability Group’s Space Services, Training Areas and Simulation Branch (SSTASB) to be their Strategic Partner in the provision of Capability Management and Engineering services across the Capability Life Cycle for Satellite Communications, Positioning, Navigation and Timing, Defence Training Areas and Simulation, Health Knowledge Management, and Defence Records Digitisation.

 

This role will be supporting the SATCOM projects within the Branch (JP9102, JP9103 and JP2008). This is a great opportunity to add value in the exciting areas of space, communications and simulation solutions to our Defence customer. As a Satellite Communications Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison and coordination with SATCOM Projects within Defence, between Australian Government Departments, and with Foreign Governments and Acquisition Agencies;
  • Development of technical artefacts to support SATCOM program activities;
  • Engineering analysis responsibilities; and
  • Providing technical support to SATCOM SMEs.

 

The successful applicant

 

To be successful in the role of Satellite Communications Engineer, you will require:

  • High level written and communication skills;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Defence Capability Lifecycle processes;
  • System Engineering experience;
  • Liaison and Facilitation skills; and
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1/NV2 Clearance.
