This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for talented Explosive Ordnance Engineer based in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, to join our Major Service Provider (MSP) Division as we embark on our next phase of growth.

Our MSP Division, is part of a large and well respected consortium of independent, technical management partners, which include Nova Systems and PwC: supported by a range of specialist SMEs.  The MSP portfolio covers the CASG Maritime, Land, Air and Joint Domains, employing over 800 individual management consultants in partnership with our Defence Clients. This long standing arrangement enables us to provide development pathways for our employees and hugely diverse opportunities in terms of role, specialisation or location.  From contributing to the design specification of a new weapon system, establishing sustainment processes for critical defence materiel or working closely with the World’s most advanced Defence manufacturers, there are opportunities and long term careers for motivated team players.

In doing so we work closely with both uniformed and public service staff to help plan and undertake the acquisition and support of advanced military systems and equipment through the provision of rigorous analysis, advice and assurance; we relish solving the unique and challenging problems this work entails.  

 

About the Role

 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join QinetiQ’s diverse and experienced team, assisting Defence with the acquisition and sustainment of the latest guided and non-guided Explosive Ordnance for the Australian Defence Force, across the Aerospace, Land and Maritime domains. 

 

Our unique in-house training program, targeted placements and ongoing support from our Principal Consultants, will provide you with accelerated learning and enable you to quickly integrate into one of the most exciting and dynamic areas of Defence.

 

As Explosive Ordnance Engineer, your responsibilities may include:

  • The CASG Engineering Processes and Management Plans & documents (SEMP, V&V etc)
  • CASG Capability Life Cycle & requirements for each Gate
  • Explosive Ordnance Engineering Management and Operations/handling
  • Utilising your knowledge of Explosive Munitions 
  • Developing system engineering requirements for EO
  • Test and Evaluation of EO products
  • Certification of EO process & artifacts
  • Providing engineering input into briefs and presentations
  • Identifying engineering risks
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management (Sponsors & Stakeholders)

 

 To be successful in the role of Explosive Ordnance Engineer, you will need the following:

  • Relevant Engineering or Chemical Science degree 
  • CASG experience (this could be waivered for technical knowledge of EO, in above or below the line industry)
