The Australia Sector has more than 1,200 employees operating across four countries, namely Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom. 

The Australia Sector Financial Controller will spearhead financial accounting compliance, statutory reporting, and tax compliance initiatives. The role will also lead the corporate finance function, collaborating with stakeholders to meet financial objectives and drive strategic growth in a global business. This role reports directly to the Australia Sector CFO with the close ties to our Global Finance team in Germany, UK and Canada. 

 
Key Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Full ownership of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow) including timely delivery of accurate monthly accounts
  • Leading the delivery of the Australian Sector annual Budgets, quarterly Forecasts and monthly Latest Best Estimates (LBE) as well as playing a key role in compiling the five year Integrated Strategic Business Plan
  • Providing leadership to the development of the financial strategy of the business, supporting the development of the right financial structures and business models
  • Acting as a key business partner and lead for accounting within the Australia Sector to ensure the delivery of business outcomes

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:
 

  • Tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance, coupled with either CPA or CA certification
  • Proven experience working in a senior finance role, leading a team and delivering financial excellence
  • Commercial and strategic, with the ability to influence, engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders including ELT, subsidiary business teams and global technical partners
  • Ability to manage a broad and diverse portfolio of businesses which include subsidiaries and recently acquired smaller businesses – offering financial advice, guidance and direction
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully delivering in a global or multi-national company and/ or the ability and mindset to integrate and collaborate across multiple geographical locations, time zones and cultures
  • Ability to maintain a pro-active approach to all aspects of the role, work autonomously and prioritise work appropriately across the Australian Sector finance team
  • Ability to adapt to business changes in a growing company
     

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
