Due to growth we are currently looking for a Project Manager Consultant to join our Advisory Services team, based in Canberra. For the right candidate we will also consider working in Adelaide.

 

Our Project Management Consultant position is an exciting role that would suit a candidate who is has strong project experience and looking to continue to develop their career in the Defence industry. The role will be responsible for leading a small multidisciplinary team of project, engineering and logistics / support staff to plan, lead and manage aspects of the Capability Life Cycle for product acquisition for operational equipment.

 

As the Project Manager you will provide the necessary level of responsiveness to the Commonwealth and will allow for the timely drafting of project management and governance documentation. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Key Stakeholder management
  • Development and maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Planning, implementation and ongoing reporting of project baselines (Cost, Schedule and Risk)
  • Maintaining integrity and security through ongoing governance and risk mitigation
  • Development of Project strategies and artefacts
  • Plan, lead and manage project resources

 

To be successful in the role of will need to bring with you:

  • A Bachelor Degree in project management, engineering or related field
  • Project management skills and experience, ideally with insight into Defence radio communications systems
  • Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills
  • The capability to manage multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
  • The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes
  • An understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Foreign Military Sales is highly desirable

 

Candidates MUST hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1). QinetiQ conducts pre-employment screening, including but not limited to identity verification and police checks, for all preferred candidates.
