BD Operations Manager

Role Purpose

Is responsible for providing Operations support to UKD Sector Business Development function.  Primarily supporting the BDD / Heads of Sales and their teams to deliver order intake to meet ISBP targets and growth objectives.   The UKD BD Operations function is a team of three comprised of a Senior BD Ops Manager and two BD Operations Managers.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Data integrity and assurance – using all available tools and through regular involvement at BD/IDT/BU level reviews drive a culture of quality data – with particular emphasis on C4C - driving up trust levels in our sales information leading to better operational performance and strategic decision making.  
  • Ownership of the monthly business reporting cycle within UKD BD, monitoring and reporting on order intake through C4C, Power BI and other associated tools (eg Waterfall).  Timely provision of business intelligence reporting to BD in support of IDT/BU/Sector level Reviews.  Working across BD to ensure that discipline is maintained to support accurate and up to date reporting information, highlighting key financial and business performance to senior management and preparing inputs for business reviews.
  • Sector Business Winning Reviews – maintain the process for LT level DP0-2 Reviews – liaising with all stakeholders to ensure correct attendance and content to achieve successful review outcome.
  • Pre Sales and Business Winning budget monitoring and control – oversight of approvals and tracing of spend against those approvals highlighting any issues via monthly reporting.   Support to Operational Business Planning (OBP) and Integrated Strategic Business Planning (ISBP) processes.
  • C4C oversight – providing Super-User support, monitoring opportunity data and continuous improvement activities.  Driving the governance process to deliver compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. 
  • BD and BW process governance and change management – through close contact with sales professionals will be responsible for driving the governance process, proactively identifying and delivering improvements to sales processes and tools, bridging skills gaps and facilitating a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Support ad-hoc data collection and manipulation as required to support UKD BD team.

 

Key Capabilities/knowledge

  • Strong communication skills and ability to support and influence sales professionals to reach all organisational objectives in a timely manner.
  • Capable of independently developing and implementing impactful plans and reports which can deliver in a fast changing business environment.
  • Teamwork; being able to create an environment where a group of people with diverse personalities, skills, experiences and perspectives are empowered to collaborate towards a common goal.
  • Stakeholder Management; being able to identify, plan and implement actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the business outcomes.

  • Proactive with a flexible and enthusiastic attitude.  

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or suitable experience.
  • Proficient with corporate tools (C4C, Power BI, Microsoft Office etc).
  • Knowledge of planning and forecasting.
  • Previous experience of working in multi-discipline teams and influencing people.
