The role

As a Programme Controller, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, responsible for the delivery and overseeing of project controls functions across a variety of projects in a diverse team.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be working closely with the Senior Project Managers and Project Controllers in a leadership role to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency is developed across QinetiQ’s portfolio.

 

  • Engaging, mentoring and supporting the team in their career development and providing guidance that enables the transfer of learning into effective practice for the team
  • Directing, instructing and supervising the teams in the delivery of project controls functions to the  business in accordance with the PMO Strategy and QinetiQ Operating Framework
  • Developing and maintaining regular, open and positive lines of communication within the team, with the leadership, programme and project teams and other key delivery partners
  • Risk, Negotiation, HR and Conflict Management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintenance of all appropriate reporting needs in support of project and programme delivery
  • Undertaking tasks and activities, as required, in the delivery of project controls functions to the  business in accordance with the  PMO Strategy and QinetiQ Operating Framework#

Full time, hybrid working.

 

Essential experience of the Programme Controller:

  • Previous experience in Project Management Office (PMO)
  • In-Depth knowledge of research management and cost control
  • Experience of Stakeholder Management
  • Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Engineering or other related sectors

 

Qualifications for the Programme Controller:

  • Prince2 Qualification, desirable, but not essential
