The role

As a Senior Systems Engineer you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary, focusing on advancing noise ranging and tracking capabilities. You'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge systems to enhance our underwater testing and evaluation processes. 

 

Accountabilites of the Senior Systems Engineer

  • Delivering high quality systems engineering outcomes supporting the UK’s ranging capability under the T3E programme (T3E (Test, Trials, Training and Evaluation)) this includes system architecture definition, concepts of operation, detailed system modelling, testing, integration and even delivery to the range.
  • Providing direction and recommendations relating to technical risks and opportunities, owning actions, solutions and future work streams.
  • Understanding and applying relevant regulatory, safety and technical standards, integrating required compliance and governance activity into delivery work.
  • Working closely with skilled engineers to deliver a wide variety of technical solutions and outcomes.

 

Remote, or adaptive working from any of the following sites: Bristol, Farnborough, Malvern, Portsmouth or the outer Hebrides is available. Occasional paid travel to these sites will be required from time to time. 

 

Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer

  • Significant experience within Systems Engineering.
  • You should have a background of working within an Engineering or Defence company. We also encourage people who come from the forces.
  • Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer:
