QinetiQ has ambitious plans for Growth and to help achieve these has created a Transformation directorate under the leadership of the Group Director Transformation within the Enterprise Services Function. 
In order to support the Group Director Transformation discharge their global responsibilities two transformation theme leads have been appointed, Group transformation and Digital & Data transformation. The transformation leads will develop the strategy and lead the transformation change projects or programmes throughout the organisation, influencing and engaging senior leaders to deliver the agreed outcomes.

 

The Group Director Transformation will be responsible for:

•    Developing an integrated approach to organisational performance management that results in delivery of ever-improving value to customers and stakeholders and improvement of overall organisational effectiveness and capabilities, including development of our organisational structures, KPI’s and culture to improve our customer-focus and competitiveness.
•    Refining and implementing our QinetiQ Operating Model processes, governance mechanisms and metrics. The QinetiQ Operating Model includes bringing together Operating Sectors and Group Functions to deliver to our customers in a consistent way across the globe.

The Transformation Programme Manager will support the Group Director Transformation and take day to day responsibility for the first of these responsibilities in implementing the QinetiQ Operating Model across QinetiQ globally.

They are required to act as a QinetiQ leader first and foremost, working across the Group, supporting the Businesses and Functions to develop our organisation.
This is a unique business leadership position, focused on driving change and transformation, including driving improved productivity, improved employee engagement, and improved business performance all of which will help contribute to delivering the Group ambition. It will involve working across all of QinetiQ’s Businesses and functions and will provide excellent career growth future opportunity.

 

Key Accountabilities

1.    Implement the Transformation programmatic’s, such as developing Programme management plans, managing risks through Predict!, schedule using PPM and aligning to benefits whilst working with Work Stream Leads in order to achieve the outcomes.
2.    Coordinate and manage the transformation artefacts and formal QinetiQ Operating Model documents on behalf the Group Transformation Director and update quarterly.
3.    Manage interdependencies across Group Functional transformation programmes and the Digital and Data Programme ensuring alignment between both transformation entities and each internal customer requirements (Operating Sectors).
4.    Implement the appropriate governance regime required to demonstrate command and control of the transformation deliverables and to facilitate good decision making practices at pace. 
5.    Support implementation of internal processes, tools and systems to ensure clarity on customer journeys through the organisation, covering end-to-end internal processes, working across Operating Sectors and Group Functions.
6.    Conduct cultural change impact and readiness assessments to identify key changes or readiness gaps and develop and execute change management activities to minimise risk, including communication plans, change impact studies, readiness assessments, end user training adoption curve tracking, and benefits realisation.
7.    Liaise with the internal communications team and lead of global communications campaign on behalf of transformation and throughout the transformation lifecycle. Ensuring the appropriate communications and target audiences/countries.
8.    Role model the QinetiQ Values and behaviours to enable a collaborative business environment.

•    Industry: Understanding of the Defence & security industry and the issues and opportunities it faces, in areas such as technology, data and business change.

 

Experience & Qualifications

•    Experience & understanding of Project & Programme management including tools and practices.
•    Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
•    Must be a clear and articulate communicator and have professional poise and presence with a diverse set of audiences, with the ability to partner across all levels.
•    Demonstrated experience working with multi-skilled teams on projects to deliver robust programmes.
•    Demonstrated an understanding of the Defence & Security environment and working in a technical organisation.
•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience either leading a complex project or global in scale, or leading programmes or having a significant role in their success.
