About the role:
The Production Manager is an Operational role, responsible for the safe and compliant, delivery of the design, manufacture and instrumentation of models to time and budget, for use in hydrodynamic testing at Haslar (HAS) in its test facilities, to support the PDLS business, as well as other production activities carried out by the capability for the QQ wider business as required.
What will I be doing?
- To lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver Production projects and deliverables.
- To establish and maintain Professional relationships with the IDT’s, Project, Technical and Operational Management functions to ensure Safe delivery of project output in accordance with Quality, Cost and Time targets.
- To work closely using ‘Agile’ methodologies with Schedulers and the HAS Production Team (design, manufacture and instrumentation), to manage capacities and timelines, to best meet requirements, and ultimately have overall accountability for meeting production output schedules, quality and budgets.
- To ensure team work closely with QQ procurement, assist in the monitoring and management of QQ's national and local preferred suppliers, providing feedback and centrally recording performance, (including response, cost, and quality and delivery information).
- Maintain the Production capability through a capability plan, combining self-help and the identification of areas for improvement and associated investment planning. Keep abreast of standards, processes and manufacturing techniques to help deliver the best, most cost effective solution.
What do I need?
- HNC / HND / Degree in an appropriate Engineering subject matter coupled with commensurate experience in the field of Production that encompasses elements of Design, manufacturing and integration.
- Experience of ‘Agile’ learning and active use of techniques.
- At least 5 years in a position of effective leadership with a Continuous Improvement culture
