Project Support Officer

 

We are currently looking for a Project Support Officer (PSO) to join our Major Service Provider (MSP) business, based in Melbourne. The successful applicant will have strong communication skills and a passion for learning. 

There will be domain specific training and mentoring provided, to assist with the transition into this role and Defence. 

 

As PSO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns
  • Coordination and scheduling of project activities
  • Working closely with external stakeholders to minimise impact to the project delivery schedule
  • Technical, operational, professional and administrative activities
  • Procedures, practices and project management methodologies
  • Analysis of project performance against agreed plans and project outcomes
  • Preparation of correspondence, briefs and reports, including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration
  • Analysis of project plans and artefacts to ensure compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks

 

To be successful in the position of PSO, you will need to bring with you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous Defence experience (desirable)
  • A relevant qualification in Project Management or related discipline
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • The ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Attention to detail

 

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

MSP

Our MSP (Major Service Provider) Division, is part of a consortium of independent, technical partners, which include Nova Systems and PwC; supported by a range of specialist SMEs.  We share and support Defence’s commitment to growing and improving Australia’s military capability.  We do this by delivering large, long term, integrated work packages across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).  In doing so we work closely with both uniformed and public service staff to help plan the acquisition and support of advanced military systems and equipment through the provision of rigorous analysis, advice and assurance; we relish solving the unique and challenging problems this work entails.  

By joining us you could be working on any of the following work packages; Communication Systems Branch, Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB), Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare Branch (ISREW), Aerospace Surveillance and Response Branch (ASR), Air Training and Aviation Common System Program Office (ATACSPO), Land Services Division (LSD).
