Project Support Officer

Multiple opportunities available to join our Major Service Provider (MSP) business, based in Melbourne within Project Support and Management roles. You will have strong communication skills and a passion for learning and will be given the opportunity to train and develop your skillsets with experienced mentors to transition into this role within the Defence Force sector. 

 

As a PSO, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Preparation of correspondence, briefings, submissions, reports and returns
  • Coordination and scheduling of project activities
  • Working closely with external stakeholders to minimise impact to the project delivery schedule
  • Technical, operational, professional and administrative activities
  • Procedures, practices and project management methodologies
  • Analysis of project performance against agreed plans and project outcomes
  • Analysis of project plans and artefacts to ensure compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks
     

To be successful in the position of PSO, you will need to bring with you:

  • Previous experience in a project environment
  • Relevant qualifications in Project Management or related discipline
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders and effective communication skills
  • A passion for learning and the ability to prioritise and multi-task while working independently or in a team
  • Strong attention to detail along with demonstrated planning and organisational skills

 

Due to the nature of these roles, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
 

MSP

Our MSP (Major Service Provider) Division, is part of a consortium of independent, technical partners, which include Nova Systems and PwC; supported by a range of specialist SMEs.  We share and support Defence’s commitment to growing and improving Australia’s military capability. We do this by delivering large, long term, integrated work packages across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). 

 

In doing so we work closely with both uniformed and public service staff to help plan the acquisition and support of advanced military systems and equipment through the provision of rigorous analysis, advice and assurance; we relish solving the unique and challenging problems this work entails.  

 

By joining us you could be working on any of the following work packages; Communication Systems Branch, Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB), Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare Branch (ISREW), Aerospace Surveillance and Response Branch (ASR), Air Training and Aviation Common System Program Office (ATACSPO), Land Services Division (LSD).
