Associate Network Engineer

The role will work with project managers and technical leads to provide in-depth knowledge to deliver technical outputs within communications and networks projects.


The role is responsible for delivering large complex technical tasks, as directed by the Technical lead, to support the delivery of projects. You will generally work as part of a team. You will help design, implement and deliver new systems and solutions. You will be expected to undertake tasks of increasing complexity, requiring the ability to consider the problem, derive a range of potential solutions and decide on the best course of action to reach a cost effective outcome with little or no supervision. You will be required to take a proactive approach to customer relationships, the adoption of standards, internal processes, contributing to continuous improvement activities, and the management of work within a team context.


Key Accountabilities


  1. Delivery: Responsible for delivering quality technical outputs to time and budget for programme, project and bidding activities. Responsible for identifying problems and providing pragmatic solutions.
  2. In Year Accountabilities:
    1. Undertake tasks of increasing complexity through the derivation of solutions using existing practises
    2. Provide new perspectives and challenge existing solutions for new tasks.
    3. Contribute to process improvements
    4. Supporting technical aspects of proposals
    5. Provide estimation of effort required for medium/large tasks


Key Capabilities/Knowledge

  • Proven interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Proven customer communications skills.
  • Experience of working on a range of engineering projects.
  • Good motivation and drive to see issues addressed.
  • Ability to stimulate creative ideas and helps integrate their contributions into attractive, deliverable solutions.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in own domain.


Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering or at least 3 years’ experience working on IT architecture.
  • Experience of working with a broad and comprehensive range of concepts and principles within the areas of communications, IT, networking and cloud computing.
  • Desirable Certs – CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA A+/N+/S+
