The UK Intelligence (UKI) Business Unit within QinetiQ is experiencing continued growth and requires a Programme Manager with SAFe Agile experience to execute delivery of bids/programmes and align QinetiQ process with SAFe Agile delivery.


With the number of customers requesting SAFe Agile increasing there is a requirement to refine QinetiQ’s approach and processes to align with SAFe Agile and ensure that continuous training and consistency of SAFe Agile delivery is maintained across the UKI delivery organisation. 


The Role
As an  SAFe Agile Programme Manager you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. As the UKI business grows and more customers operate with the SAFe Agile Framework it is likely that the successful candidate will be required to manage multiple bids and programmes using the SAFe Agile Framework. Providing Leadership and guidance as QinetiQ continues to evolve its processes and procedures to accommodate increased deliveries in line with the SAFe Agile Framework:


  • Meeting contractual obligations
  • Achieving excellent customer satisfaction
  • Delivery of projects to time, cost and quality
  • Production of open, accurate and timely financial and workload forecasts to support planning within the business
  • Ability to network, building relationships to enable successful engagement with a broad range of stakeholders (external and internal) often with competing interests
  • Management of subcontracts, some with significant development work
  • Support the business to develop future pipeline work
  • Promotion of best practice within the projects and ensure that previous lessons learnt are adopted and new lessons identified for future benefit
  • Develop any appropriate follow on work

Essential experience of the Programme Manager

  • Agile PM Delivery Experience
  • Experience of leading SAFe delivery within a customer-supplier commercial context
  • Experience leading delivery of £10M+ information capability change initiatives
  • Experience of bidding major (£10M plus) contracts
  • Facilitating PI Planning Events with distributed teams
