The Senior Service Architect is a both an internal- and customer-facing role, able to work across QinetiQ’s service portfolio to design the service wrap to provide service support and management for customer solutions and managed service propositions into customers and key markets.  In addition, and where required, the role can work client-side as part of programme delivery teams, to define service architectures for specific managed service offerings and deliveries.

The purpose of this role is to work with customer-facing teams to design and deliver service integration, support and management models to meet customer requirements and service or solution deliverables, following the principles and processes within the Service Design and Transition (SD&T) Framework. Such models should be aligned with QinetiQ’s strategic objectives, and reflect present operating capabilities whilst also developing future capabilities and models.  The role will also contribute to the effective transition of services and solutions into the live environment, and to the operation and continuous improvement of the SD&T Framework.


Key Accountabilities

1.    Work with customer-facing teams to define and design of the service wrap for new services and customer solutions. 
2.    Working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide Service Design & Transition (SD&T) input to bid responses and proposals, including the identification and derivation of customer and business requirements and the definition of appropriate support models, with associated costs.
3.    Develop and maintain SD&T policies, procedures, templates and other documentation to facilitate the use of the SD&T Framework for all customer project and programme deliveries.
 4.    Engage with and influence business stakeholders to ensure the value and benefits of the SD&T Framework and processes are recognised and understood.

5.    Ensure that all customer solutions and services follow the SD&T Framework process steps and align with wider QinetiQ governance requirements throughout their implementation.

6.    Work with SD&T colleagues, the Service Desk and Technical Operations teams to ensure service design packages are sufficient to enable Service Transition to commence.

7.    Lead on the transition of services and solutions into live service as required.  


Key Capabilities/Knowledge
•    Ability to analyse data and information, with strong attention to detail in order to produce documentation and high level plans
•    Ability to influence stakeholders and engage with customers across various positons and levels 
•    High level of competency in ITIL v3/ITIL4  
•    Strong negotiation skills 
•    Good communication skills to discuss and agree service requirements and to articulate these within documentation 


Experience and Qualifications

 •   Experience in Service Design and Service Architecture within large, complex organisations 
•    ITIL V3/ITIL4 accredited
•    Experience in converting customer business needs to solutions involving business Service Design and Portfolio Management
•    Experience of working with a diverse range of products and services
•    Willingness and ability to travel
•    Prince 2, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes)
•    Security clearance 
•    Commercial awareness
•    Ability to collaborate with others
