Applications are now welcome for a new role within our Australia Sector Commercial team.  Reporting to the Pricing & Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for providing best in class cost modelling and pricing services in support of Sector growth opportunities, investments and contract extensions/variations and cost reviews. 

 

Whilst our preference is that this role is based in Melbourne, applicants in Adelaide, Brisbane or Canberra are also welcome to apply.

 

In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Use your pricing and estimating subject matter expertise to perform price build-up and pricing and estimating analysis in support of major programs with a focus on strategic business development captures
  • Provide advice and support for pricing and estimating on smaller projects across the Australia Sector
  • Support the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of pricing and estimating tools and templates
  • Contribute to the development/ maintenance of relevant procedures and processes utilised across the Sector’s respective businesses to help drive business growth, profitability and fiscal accountability

 

As the ideal candidate for this specialist role, you’ll present with:

  • Advanced knowledge, understanding and application of financial and risk analysis models, concepts and principles in a commercial context
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel, to develop and maintain pricing and estimating templates, tools, policies and procedures
  • An advanced sense of commercial awareness and business acumen coupled with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly developed interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and communication skills coupled with an ability to influence effectively
  • Credibility, integrity and high personal ethical standards that align with QinetiQ values of Collaboration, Integrity and Performance

 

Whilst not essential, knowledge/ experience in the application of ProPricer or similar pricing tools to develop robust and defendable pricing models is highly desirable. Knowledge and experience in the application of Power BI to develop robust and defendable pricing models will also be advantageous.

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.  A current security clearance will be highly regarded.
