About the opportunity

 

Reporting to the Melbourne based Communications Manager, as our Internal Communications Specialist, you will be a key contributor to our newly formed, integrated Communications Function. You will support the execution of our business and people strategies through the delivery of effective internal communications and engagement methods and practices.


Your key responsibilities will include:
 

  • Supporting the delivery of the internal communications and engagement strategy across the Australia Sector (Australia, Germany, Canada and the United Kingdom)
  • Acting as a partner to business units and functions for internal communications including supporting the delivery of key projects, ensuring communications tactics are delivered appropriately
  • Supporting Sector internal communication channels including writing and editing high-quality content for a variety of internal communications channels such as blogs, emails, messages, newsletters and all-hands sessions
  • Supporting the delivery of programs to empower employees to act as brand ambassadors
  • Supporting the Sector’s employer brand approach
  • Working collaboratively with the broader Communications Function to ensure consistency in messaging and execution of communications activities
  • Identifying and promoting employee achievements and success stories to support improvement of organisational culture in line with the values

 

In terms of location, the role can be based in Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or a related field
  • Demonstrated post-qualification experience working in an internal communications, employee engagement or change communications role
  • Demonstrated experience in change management practices to support communications during times of significant change
  • Experience editing and updating intranet/web content and analysing web analytics
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to deliver effective internal communications.
  • A passion for communications and engagement, with a keen interest in new technologies, platforms and channels
  • A proven ability to craft clear, concise and compelling messages for diverse range of audiences

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
