We are currently looking for a Team Lead to join QinetiQ’s leading Structural Integrity business based in South Melbourne Victoria.

 

The Team Lead – Authority, Policy and Professionalisation will provide leadership to a team of engineers delivering complex safety authority tasks and services for military airworthiness stakeholders. The Team Lead will be responsible for the performance management and personnel requirements, whilst generating and maintaining a safe work environment with high employee engagement.

 

As Team Lead – Authority, Policy and Professionalisation your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Managing of a team of engineers within a Program area of the business.
  • Scoping and managing the execution and delivery of complex aviation safety authority services to varying customers, enhancing QinetiQ’s reputation as a trusted provider and partner.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact and client interface for the assigned tasks for their team, developing strong customer relationships and managing client expectations.
  • Ensuring administrative management deliverables are met, including: invoice requests, data reporting, financial and resource projections.
  • Ensuring optimal utilisation of human, physical and financial resources allocated to assigned tasks; decisions are guided by resource availability and/or functional objectives.
  • Ensuring standardisation and continuous improvement of relevant processes.
  • Compliance with legislative, regulatory, QinetiQ Quality Management Systems, Employee Safety requirements.
  • Ensuring management, communication and leadership practices in the team generates a high level of employee engagement, a high performance culture and aligns with QinetiQ staff competency requirements.

 

To be successful in the role of Team Lead – Authority, Policy and Professionalisation you will need to bring with you:

 

  • Degree qualified Engineer
  • Solid industry experience, with a particular focus on military airworthiness regulations and their application within ADF Air Domain.
  • Whilst not essential, experience with aviation safety policy and regulation development, and /or relevant experience in aviation software certification, UAS certification, aerodrome certification or flight operations safety assurance will be highly regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent PM and organisational skills in planning, managing and coordinating
  • Advanced professional writing capabilities to develop or improve documents and ensure understandable and useful information
  • An ability to apply good judgement with the capacity to make informed, well thought through decisions
  • A highly analytical and solution focused approach with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to solicit, support and coordinate efforts of a diverse team of professional experts
  • Experience working within an engineering management system

Structural Integrity Group

QinetiQ’s Structural Integrity group provides trusted, independent airworthiness advice and specialist structural integrity engineering services to Military customers, with a strong focus on the Air Domain. Our team of highly qualified and experienced engineers offer a full range of structural integrity engineering services including design, loads and stress analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, vibration and aero elasticity assessment, numerical modelling, data management and analysis, risk analysis, software development, certification basis assessment and development of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
