Software Engineer

 

We are currently recruiting Software Engineers to join our Integrated Engineering Services team in Adelaide and will be embedded in our customers’ team, to assist with research and trials.


This is a new position and is a great opportunity for someone with 2+ years of experience who wants to accelerate their career in Defence. As part of this role and the growth opportunities, you will attain Engineering Authority under our current Engineering Management System.
The successful applicants will join an experienced, innovative and supportive tight-knit team, to support the design, development and deployment of software solutions. No two days will be the same - you will work across a diverse range of projects and products in Defence and will be exposed to different technologies and tools, allowing you to grow in your career and feel fulfilled in your work.

Advisory Services
In our Advisory Services division, everything starts with a problem that needs a solution. We act as an independent, technical partner for customers looking to procure defined services and develop specific capabilities. We help them diagnose, rationalise and solve intractable problems by providing analysis, advice and assurance, enabling our customers to make sound decisions about cost, time and performance.


As Software Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Involve

  • Using existing solutions to solve complex problems
  • Shaping, describing and delivering whole or parts of Defence projects
  • Building strong relationships with the client, other external stakeholders and QinetiQ team members
  • Advising the client on project scope, methods, complexity and risks
  • Programming with Python, C and C++
  • Working in a Linux environment and developing shell scripts

 

To be successful in the role of Software Engineer, you will need to bring with you:

  • A degree in Engineering (i.e. Software, Electrical, Electronics)
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • The ability to work independently and autonomously
  • A high level of credibility, integrity and personal ethical standards
  • A proactive, confident and competent approach to work

 

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
