NCSISS Programme:

The Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service (NCSISS) delivers the necessary integration, test, evaluation, and acceptance activities across all phases of the equipment lifecycle to support the development and delivery of operationally effective Combat System (CS) capability.  It enables MOD and industry to make informed decisions based on objective, credible evidence that is generated by experts in an environment free from supply chain conflict of interest.

QinetiQ delivers NCSISS collaboratively with its partner BAE Systems.  NCSISS capability is based at QinetiQ’s Portsdown Technology Park (PTP).   PTP hosts various facilities that are representative of key Royal Navy (RN) Combat Systems to allow defect resolution, design support, integration, test and evaluation, acceptance and interoperability activities to be undertaken.

A Senior Project Manager is required to join the team and this exciting challenge. This role requires an experienced Project Manager, ideally with Maritime Systems knowledge and/or experience in decommission and recommission of systems/capabilities.


Role Purpose
To lead the delivery of one or several complex projects. The projects will involve installation of equipment into the NMSC, management of cross site installations and collaborating with others to ensure successful completion.

Key Accountabilities
• Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers.
• Operating in a Safe & Secure manner.
• Embedding a culture in line with the QinetiQ values.
• Delivery of the project outputs, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales).
• Ensuring project members operate in line with the Operating Framework & functional competency management requirements; and have appropriate personal objectives recorded in the QinetiQ performance management system.
• Resolving conflicts (including prioritisation calls) within the project and collaborating across QinetiQ.
• Maintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for sales and delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work.
• Application of governance requirements (including lifecycle, project & independent reviews as appropriate) for foundation sales and delivery work.
• Reporting progress on all accountabilities to programme / portfolio manager (or their delegate).

• Knowledge in Maritime Systems and the decommission and recommission process desirable


Essential Skills/Qualifications

APM PPQ or equivalent professional qualification is essential.

Able to hold and maintain a UK MOD SC Clearance

Desirable Skills/Qualifications

Knowledge of MoD project and procurement processes
Knowledge of Maritime domain

Experience in decommission and recommission of systems/capabilities
