Join us as a Multi‑Skilled Facilities Engineer within our Building Services team. This role is based at our MoD Rosneath site, with responsibility for supporting seven nearby QinetiQ locations, all within a close distance of each other. You will have access to a company vehicle for site-to-site travel, as well as overtime opportunities.
The Role
As a Multi‑Skilled Facilities Engineer (Mechanical Bias), you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of facilities, mechanical plant and building systems across Rosneath and surrounding local sites. Your work enables the continued delivery of critical programmes that support the UK’s national interest.
You will carry out pre-planned maintenance, corrective repairs and reactive work across a variety of building systems.
Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver planned, preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, including pre‑planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across plant, equipment, and building infrastructure

Act as the Authorised Person (AP) for Mechanical systems, Petroleum systems, and LV (Low Voltage), in line with JSPs and fuel/petroleum regulations

Maintain site services and critical infrastructure, providing specialist mechanical support and breaking down complex tasks to deliver against maintenance schedules

Undertake compliance and readiness activities including emergency lighting checks, Legionella (L8) checks, and general readiness inspections

Carry out electrical support works where required, including changing light fittings, RCD replacements and annual testing, and minor electrical works

Support and work with generator systems, and participate in the on‑call rota (1‑in‑3) to ensure continuous site operation
Essential Experience of the Multi‑Skilled Facilities Engineer:
- Strong mechanical bias within facilities services, ideally within a multi‑skilled maintenance environment
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical, building services, or maintenance discipline - Relevant, proven multi‑skilled experience with a mechanical bias will also be considered in place of formal qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical plant, HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance
- Background working within FM, estates, or multi‑site maintenance environments
Essential Qualifications of the Multi‑Skilled Facilities Engineer:
- Engineering/Technical qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline)
- Competent user of Microsoft Office
- Full clean driving licence (required for multi-site coverage)

This role is 37 hours per week, based at MoD Rosneath. Company vehicle provided for travel across the seven nearby sites.
