The HSE Advisor provides competent and professional health, safety and occasional environmental advice, services and hands-on practical support in line with business needs within the site and across the Group.

 

HS&E Advisors support both the centralised Safety Function and assigned Business Unit or site as applicable, working flexibly to deliver against the Key Accountabilities described below.

 

The role:

 

The role will drive a step change in the safety culture across the business contributing to improved safety performance, supporting the wider HS&E Advisor community as required. The role reports in to the Head of Function and delivers to Head of Site Boscombe Down, with occasional travel in support of Function, Programmes or sites as required.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

 

  • Provide competent and technical health, safety and occasional environmental advice to operational and delivery teams, working in partnership with assurance managers.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Operations, Project and Delivery teams on site to actively contribute to the risk assessment process.
  • To drive the Fire Risk Assessment process to put in place and regularly review all building assessments on site.
  • Manage assigned HS&E improvement initiatives/projects ensuring the suitability and effectiveness of underpinning Group HS&E management system arrangements.
  • Influence decision makers to help ensure a proportionate focus on HS&E delivery, recognised as a trusted partner and competent HS&E Advisor.

 

Essential experience of the HSE Advisor:

 

  • Skilled practical knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of delivery, operations & engineering.

 

Qualifications for the HSE Advisor:

 

  • You must have a Nebosh Certificate.
