The role

As the International Senior Tax Manager you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will provide expert support to the Group Director Tax & Treasury in managing the tax risks and opportunities with primary focus on corporate tax, tax accounting, and acting in a business advisory capacity for the Global Group.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Oversee all aspects of corporate tax compliance, to include review of tax returns for all UK group companies, recommendation of system improvements (management of payments on account; claims & elections; and, tax accounts), Country-by-Country Reporting, BEPS Pillar 2 and SAO compliance
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of the Group Statutory Accounts tax notes
  • Manage the tax accounting process in line with relevant accounting standards, including year-end, budgeting, ETR, modelling, accounting developments and forecasting
  • Advise on systems requirements and tax technology developments
  • Work with the overseas tax advisers – including US, Australia, Canada, Germany – to monitor and control overseas tax compliance and potential permanent establishment risks
  • Develop of intercompany trading agreements and other legal documentation to support QinetiQ’s transfer pricing position
  • Provide tax advice to the business including assistance with any tax planning (such as M&A, debt or IP structuring, interest restrictions and loss utilisation) and global business expansion
  • Work closely with the wider Tax, Finance & Business Teams and external advisors in helping to deliver the Group’s objectives, assisting with ad hoc advisory queries and undertaking relevant tax research
  • Participate in the development of better tax / business communication by way of presentations, tax blogs, tax newsletters articles and attendance at business meetings
  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of tax legislation as it applies to the business including tax team training
  • Work in alignment with the tax and corporate responsibility strategies

 

Essential experience of the International Tax Senior Manager:

  • Technical capability in direct tax regulations and accounting standards
  • Strong leader with effective interpersonal skills
  • Professional and self-motivated to meet tight regulatory deadlines and manage complex projects collaborating with a broad range of business contacts and advisers
  • Good communicator
  • Background knowledge in international tax regulations

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting qualifications
  • Excel, Powerpoint and Word skills
  • Use of Direct tax systems such as OneSource software
  • VISIO and SAP/Oracle
