The role

QinetiQ are looking for a Change Manager (level 2) to join a team based at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day implementation and management of the change management process, ensuring that changes to the IT infrastructure and services are executed smoothly, minimising disruptions and adhering to ITIL best practice.

 Day-to-day within the Change Manager Role:

  • Manage the use of standard methods and procedures for efficient handling, prioritisation, scheduling, authorisation and deployment of changes and releases in alignment with ITIL best practice.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of risks associated with proposed changes.
  • Maintenance and communication of the Forward Schedule of Change and projected planned service outages, highlighting scheduling conflict.
  • Initiate and manage procurement activities in support of change implementation.
  • Ensuring that all changes to Configuration Items are recorded as part of the change process.
  • Managing the review of completed changes before they are closed.
  • Provision of Post Implementation Review/Reports on failed/Major Changes.
  • Initiate and implement process improvement from insight from process performance measures and end user feedback through the Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) process.
  • Basic technical understanding and working knowledge of technologies such as Active Directory, Windows 10/11, basic network fundamentals, collaboration technologies and system monitoring and reporting technologies

As part of the wider Service Consultancy Team further opportunities to support within customer facing teams, stakeholders and internal business IDT’s. Development opportunities within both service consultancy and service operations enabling development of management skills and SME specific practices and processes (ITIL 4 and SAFe Agile).

  • Production of artefact for input into bid responses and proposals.
  • Provide input into customer and business requirements and definitions of appropriate support models, with associated costs.
  • Working with Senior consultant engaging with stakeholders to ensure value and benefits are recognised and understood
  • Has the ability to work independently and can resolve issues with minimal guidance.
  • Work with SD&T (Service Design and Transition) colleagues, to help ensure that Service Design Packages and Service Transition Activities are documented and approved at the appropriate points within the capability delivery.

 

Qualifications:

As a minimum Knowledge of ITIL 4 (Foundation).

Change enablement Practice or Practical Change Manager Experience.

Experience of ITSM Service Desk and tooling.
