As part of our ongoing growth and support to the Australian Defence Force we are looking for an experienced Aerospace Engineer to join our aerospace structural integrity team supporting type certification for military aviation applications.

 

Your experience within aviation regulatory environments will support you in this Aerospace Engineering role which will see you become part of the team reviewing changes to type certification on military products.

 

This interesting role will see you:

 

  • Working closely with the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) in support of independent safety assurance activities

  • Assessing complex technical applications for compliance with standards and Defence regulatory requirements

  • Provide specialist engineering and technical advice to Defence and industry organisations on complex ADF aircraft issues

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as the ADF operational community, Defence sustainment and acquisition organisations, and Defence industry

 

As our ideal candidate you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical/ Mechatronic recognised by Engineers Australia

  • Defence security clearance to NV1 

  • Knowledge of DASR / CASA or other aviation safety regulation framework

  • An understanding of airworthiness requirements and some exposure to type certification

  • Currently have, or aspire to work towards, technical authority and / or technical leadership responsibilities

  • Have strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Are Melbourne-based or willing to relocate to Melbourne for this opportunity.
